M R Scaffolding of Blofield and Britannia Training of Wymondham joined forces recently to demonstrate to thirty construction company managers, the correct procedures when working with scaffolding.
Major clients from both businesses including Carters and Kier Group were given demonstrations on the correct procedures to lessen health and safety risks. This included the erection and dismantling of scaffolding and the correct use of harnesses on projects and in such a way that it conforms to SG410 safety standards. The demonstration also included the correct use of a GOTCHA rescue system.
This is the second fully booked workshop the two companies have jointly run. Originally a suggestion by one of their customers, it allows senior managers to take time out to review their scaffolding work practices and make sure they are complying with latest health and safety guide lines. For Britannia and M R Scaffolding it gives them the chance to give something back to the industry with a free update on regulations.
Alan Regan of Mr Scaffolding “ Our clients are very important to us and we are therefore pleased to be able to offer these types of workshops to support their training activity. Britannia’s training centre gives us a realistic full scale scaffolding situation without needing to disturb workers on construction sites. It is appreciated by our customers and seen to be going that extra mile.”
Colin Wright, MD Britannia Training “We have been working with Alan and Gavin for several years. Our services complement each other and have helped us establish a scaffolding advice service to include training and inspections to businesses across the Eastern region.”
The event has proven to be so successful that the two companies will be organising another in the near future, for information and to register your interest contact Emily at Britannia Training on 0808 250 9439.
