Yesterday Britannia took part in a construction safety and health awareness day in Ipswich. With the construction industry still the most dangerous to work in, with injury and fatality rates still the highest of all sectors. The aim of yesterday’s event was to give practical, hands-on advice on competence, Work at Height, Health issues and Asbestos.
The SHAD event was run by the WWT, the Working Well Together construction initiative which is aiming to improve health and safety in the construction industry, with particular concentration in the small and micro businesses. Visit their website here: http://wwt.uk.com/ to find out more.
They run a number of free events throughout the year open to all working in the construction industry and actively promote construction safety training.
